The following programs will be offered at Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC), 1625 Northport Dr., unless indicated otherwise.

Upcoming events:

Tuesday, April 2, 10:30‒11:30 am: County Executive Joe Parisi will visit us to give an update on the work Dane County is doing to clean up our lakes, finance renewable energy development, and benefit county tax payers. Come to listen in and stay for lunch. RSVP for lunch by calling 512-0000 ext. 3000.

Tuesday, April 9, 10:30‒11:15 am: Agrace 101 — Myth vs. Fact. The most common myths about hospice care will be discussed. Hospice can be misunderstood. But contrary to the hearsay and myths, the purpose of hospice is to provide care, support and comfort to both patients and families.

Monday, April 15, 10:30 am‒12:30 pm: Intro to Ping Pong. If you are interested in trying Ping Pong, this is your chance. Join us for Ping Pong 101. Learn how to hit the ball, score and more. Join us for lunch at 11:30 am. Call 512-0000 ext. 3000 to sign up for lunch.

Thursday, April 25, 6‒9 pm, at Maple Bluff Country Club, 500 Kensington Dr.: Black Tie Bingo. This is a fundraiser for NewBridge Madison. Dress up or come casual but either way come for fun. Tickets are on sale through April 18, $40 for one or $70 for a pair. The evening includes a silent auction, light appetizers, cash bar and door prizes. Ongoing events:

5¢ Bingo: Every Friday, 10:15 am (bilingual bingo in Spanish and English on the first Friday of the month). Each card costs five cents; all proceeds are paid out to the winners. Call 24 hours ahead if you want to stay for lunch at 11:15 am by calling 512-0000 ext. 3000.

Card-Making Club: Second and fourth Wednesdays, 1 pm. Come join this group and let your creative juices flow. Help create homemade cards for all occasions. We sell these cards in our office Monday‒Friday, 8 am‒4:30 pm. All proceeds support NewBridge programs and services. New talent is always welcome.

Sewing Club/Free Mending Service: First and third Thursday, 9 am. Senior adults with general mending and alteration needs can bring your clothing to the NewBridge-North office Monday‒Friday, 8 am‒4:30 pm. There is a limit of three articles per month.

Knitting and Crocheting Club: Second and fourth Tuesday, 9‒11 am, in the WPCRC lobby. Quilters are also welcome.

Free Senior Chair Yoga: Wednesdays, 10:30 am. Increase strength, flexibility and balance with chair-based yoga stretches and breathing techniques. Certified Yoga Instructor Kim Sprecher leads the class

Book Club: First Tuesday, 10 am. See the newsletter for the monthly book description.

Sassy Steppers: Every Monday, 4 pm. NewBridge’s senior dance crew is open to anyone age 55 and up. Any skill level is welcome.

Technology Help Appointments: Tuesdays, 10 am‒12 pm, NewBridge-North office. Northsider Sharon Persich is available to answer your questions. Bring in your phone, computer or tablet. All skill levels are welcome. Appointments are usually one hour. Call 512-0000 ext. 3000 to make an appointment.

Card Playing: All skill levels are welcome. Euchre, Mondays, 8:30‒11:30 am. Kings Corners, Mondays, 10:30‒11:30 am. Sheepshead, first and third Wednesdays, 1‒3 pm.

Mahjong (American version): Thursdays, 1‒3 pm, All skill levels are welcome.

Ping Pong League: Mondays, 9 am‒12 pm, in the WPCRC Game Room. Looking for a fun way to exercise? This is the group for you. Stop in and join the fun.
