Our typical cold Wisconsin winter will soon arrive, and The River Food Pantry is here to keep you warm with the ReMitt Project.

ReMitt mittens are hand crafted by volunteers from a Blackhawk Church women’s group. The mittens are 100 percent recycled — made from old wool sweaters. The women felt the sweaters and then craft them into beautiful (and really warm) wool mittens. Best of all, the sale of the mittens benefits The River Food Pantry. Your new mittens will not only keep your hands warm, they will also warm your heart because your purchase will help feed a family in need.

Each pair of mittens is totally unique; you won’t find another pair like it. From bold colors to fun designs, there’s a pair of mittens for everyone’s style. Men’s and women’s mittens are $30; Wisconsin Badger mittens are $40.

ReMitt mittens are available only until the end of December. Find them at the following locations:

  • Barriques, 2166 Atwood Ave.
  • DuWayne’s Salon, 2114 N. Sherman Ave.
