All of us at the Northside Planning Council were very saddened to hear of Darlene Horner’s passing on May 2, 2017. As a founding member of NPC and a powerful force for good in the Vera Court neighborhood, Darlene was truly a leading light for this community. Her heart, her passion, her spirit – she poured herself into helping her neighbors, and she transformed many lives. The Northside of Madison owes her a great debt.  We are honored to be a part of her story, and we hold her and her family in our thoughts. We’ll miss you, Big Mama.
