You almost need a guidebook to keep track of the openings, closings, name changes and location shuffling in recent months at Northside TownCenter. Take a drive around the newly resurfaced parking lot to check everything out.

“We’ve been working on a lot of business opportunities in the past year,” said Dave Bruns, co-owner of the TownCenter. “We’re pleased to successfully have brought Willy Street Co-op – North to the community. Besides filling the obvious need for a quality grocer, they are also a solid employer providing jobs on the Northside.” If you missed the Sept. 23 grand opening of the store, stop in to check out the interior facelift and selection of groceries for every budget. You’ll find affordable groceries right alongside organic products.

RP’s Pasta Co.’s owner, Peter Robertson, had been negotiating with owners Don and Dave Bruns for more than a year to convert a portion of the former Kohl’s grocery store. The plan for a production facility and small outlet store to accommodate RP’s growth in its line of gluten-free pasta could have brought more than 50 jobs to the Northside in the next five years. In early September Robertson announced, “The Northside deal has fallen through. I’m searching for a new building and need to make a decision about a new location in a short period of time.” “We made deep cuts to keep RP’s in Madison and bring jobs to the Northside,” said Bruns. “We wish Peter and Andrea Robertson well as they expand their business.”
