Guy was nominated by Make Music Madison organizers Michael Rothschild and Sue Peck.

Sue Peck wrote in her nomination: “Guy has been instrumental (pun intended) in bringing Make Music Madison to the Northside every year. His efforts in getting bands lined up at Warner Park, as well as managing the stage and even performing in multiple groups have improved the lives of all who have been able to attend the event. Guy has also helped to plan the city-wide event for the last three years as well. In addition to Make Music Madison, Guy has also helped at other Northside events, such as the Independence Day celebrations. Guy’s energy and passion help to bring communities together and enriches all of us who live here, and many who are just passing through.”

Michael Rothschild, Founder of Make Music Madison, wrote in his nomination: “Guy has been an active participant both in planning the annual citywide Make Music Madison event, and in producing a day long stage in Warner park. Guy has put his heart and soul into developing a stage that allows both new and established musicians to have a place to perform, while providing a well-attended day of musical entertainment for the community. Each year his stage has been amongst the five stages providing the longest day of music (out of about 100 stages each year) while also being among the most well attended. I have watched him overcome all obstacles thrown at him to make sure that our day of music will go off smoothly each June 21. His participation in planning the entire Make Music Madison event each year has given us his enthusiasm, creativity and innovation, and has provided us with insights that we weren’t getting elsewhere. He’s been a faithful and dedicated volunteer over several years. His impact has gone beyond the Northside and has helped throughout the city. His many hours of volunteer work have been unsung, but now should be recognized.”
