MSCR invites you to cruise the lakes on a pontoon boat

Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) Pontoon Rides are a great way to enjoy the Madison lakes. MSCR offers boat rentals, drop-in rides and specialty trips. Visit mscr.org or call 204-4581 for more information.

Rentals — are perfect for reunions, work outings or get-togethers. Large groups can rent up to three boats. Complete a Pontoon Rental Form available at mscr.org.

Drop-in Rides — take place June 5‒Sept. 29 at the places listed below. Please arrive 45 minutes early to sign in, first come, first served. The fee is $6 per person (children 3 and younger are free) and is paid at the pier.

  • Mondays, Olbrich Park, 3527 Atwood Ave., 1:30‒2:30 pm and 2:45‒3:35 pm (Lake Monona only)
  • Tuesdays, Tenney Boat Pier, 1615 Sherman Ave., 5:30‒7 pm and 7:15‒8:45 pm (in September the 7:15 pm trip is not held)
  • Wednesdays, Olin Park, 1156 Olin Turville Ct., 1:30‒2:30 pm and 2:45‒3:45 pm (bring a bag lunch if desired)
  • Thursdays, Tenney Boat Pier, 1615 Sherman Ave., 5:30‒7 pm and 7:15‒8:45 pm (Lake Monona only) (in September the 7:15 pm trip is not held)
  • Fridays, Tenney Boat Pier, 1615 Sherman Ave., 1:30‒2:30 pm and 2:45‒3:45 pm
  • Sundays, Tenney Boat Pier, 1615 Sherman Ave., 1:30‒2:30 pm and 2:45‒4:15 pm

Specialty Trips — register at mscr.org

Sylvia’s Stories — Learn about the people, places and events that helped shape the Madison lakes area. The first trip takes place Tuesday, June 6, 5‒8 pm. Meet at the Tenney Boat Pier. The fee is $10 per person. Use course #14514 to register.

Pirate Treasure — Hunt hidden treasures and enjoy pirate activities. Receive a pirate treasure map and telescope. Saturday, June 24, 9:30 am‒12:30 pm. Meet at the Tenney Boat Pier. The fee is $12 per person. Use course #14492 to register.

Lunch and dinner trips — Enjoy a boat trip to lakeside restaurants. Several options are available. Go to mscr.org.
