Margaret’s Fund: A Northside Scholarship

Congratulations to Felicia Jones for her selection as recipient of the 2016 Margaret’s Fund: A Northside Scholarship. She is the eighth Northside scholar to receive the annual award.

Jones is attending Madison College with the aim of becoming a social worker. Her career goal is to work with women who are in the criminal justice system due to mental illness or drug addiction to help them improve their lives. Jones will be the first of her family to obtain a college degree. Join us in congratulating Jones on her selection with a public acknowledgement at the 2016 North Star awards.

Margaret’s Fund supports residents of Madison’s Northside neighborhoods to pursue post-secondary education. The award goes to a graduating high school senior in odd years and to a returning adult in even years. Founded in 2007, Margaret’s Fund has given an annual scholarship to a member of our Northside community since 2009. Past recipients are: Tara Hoffman, Nicole Tackes, Stacey Yang, Omobolanle Olubi, Chekwube Obieze, Melissa Marie Alexander and Aminata Bojang.
