The Friends of Lakeview Branch Library hold their next Quarterly Book Sale Saturday, Dec. 10, 9 am‒4 pm, with a members-only sale Friday, Dec. 9, 6–7:45 pm and a Saturday bag sale 2‒4 pm. There are always great bargains, and all proceeds fund library programs.

Animals of Mexico

This storytime is presented in Spanish. Join us for the fun. Learn about these animals of Mexico: Monarch butterflies, possums and Xoloitzcuintle dogs. Enjoy stories, songs, arts and crafts, and light refreshments.

Let’s Move! Parent and Child Fitness

(children ages 18 months to 5 years)
A fun and active fitness class for children and their parent or caregiver. Learn songs, games and exercises that can be used on a daily basis. Mindfulness, wellness and self-esteem are also emphasized. Teacher Venus Washington, owner of R U Fit Fitness Company, is excited to share her tips and knowledge with you. Chess Club

Grab your friends for multiplayer Minecraft fun at the library. No account is necessary. Bring your own computer or use one of ours.

Read to a Dog

Terrific Tuesdays

Join us every Tuesday for all sorts of creative projects. There will be arts and crafts, cooking, games and more.

Library Laboratory

Stop by this drop-in session to play all sorts of games, experiment with cooking and get creative with science, technology, engineering, art and math. Supervised younger siblings are welcome.

Drop-in Preschool Storytime

(children ages 3–5, siblings welcome)
A happy blend of stories, fingerplays and songs that help preschool children develop print and phonologic awareness, vocabulary, letter knowledge and narrative skills. Groups are welcome, no registration is required.

One-On-One Writing Assistance
Mondays, 4–7 pm
Free one-hour sessions for writing help, including resumes, cover letters, online job searches, applications and creative writing. This program is funded through a grant and staffed by UW Writing Assistance staff. Call 246-4547 to sign up.

Computer and e-Book Assistance
Mondays, 10 am‒12 pm, Thursdays, 1–3 pm, Saturdays, 9–11 am, by appointment
We offer free one-on-one sessions for help with basic computer and internet literacy including online job searching and applications, using email and Facebook, and e-reader setup and assistance. Call 246-4547 to make an appointment.

Adult Evening Book Group

The Lakeview Library now has a TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator available for 28-day checkout. All you need is a library card in good standing and an ID. Just ask at the information desk.
