Have fun while helping food pantries

Northside Business Association

It’s a win-win when participation in a family event allows people of all ages to come together and have fun while giving back to others. Those living in the Northside community, including the nonprofits and businesses, receive this opportunity when they come together annually at the Northside Business Association (NBA) Breakfast with Santa in early December to benefit three local food pantries.

Together, the three Northside food pantries serve well over 1,000 families, distribute 30–40 thousand pounds of food, and provide more than 750 meals each week. The need for food and donations during winter, and especially surrounding the holidays, is greater than at other times of the year. Combined efforts of the Northside community will help provide food when it is needed the most.

Breakfast with Santa donates all proceeds from breakfast, plus the monetary donations and food collected at the event, to the pantries. NBA and food pantry volunteers are the servers and donations from the Northside community help defray or cover the food expenses for the event. Ticket sponsorships help Northside youth and their families who couldn’t otherwise participate to eat breakfast and visit with Santa.

Please consider sponsoring tickets or donating money for food expenses. Schools and community centers should contact us if breakfast tickets are needed for distribution to their children. Tickets can also be purchased for yourself, given to your grandchildren or children from the neighborhood.

Breakfast with Santa will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, from 8–11 am at the
Esquire Club, 1025 N. Sherman Ave. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee.

To make food or ticket donations, contact event chair Steve Nelson at DuWayne’s Salon, 241-0323 or steve@duwaynessalon.com. Breakfast with Santa tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children age 3-10. Children under age three are admitted free. Visit madisonnba.com for further details and ticket locations.
