Summer is here. North District staff understands that with warmer weather there will be an increase in activity in our neighborhoods, parks and business districts. We will continue to use the SARA model (Scanning, Analysis, Response plan and Assessment) as our main problem-solving tool. Our efforts will include:

  • Scan the data of calls for service.
  • Increase foot and bike patrols.
  • Canvas of neighborhoods by NPO/NRO liaison officers to ensure all key properties are posted for no trespassing.
  • Maintain our hotel/motel program and our Fireside Five Oh program.
  • Continue as a district team (patrol, detectives, CPT, NRO, NPO) to address problems when they surface in a timely fashion.
  • Attempt to schedule mounted patrol coverage and visibility in neighborhoods.
  • Continue to share information as a district team.
  • Continue to engage all residents in all neighborhoods of the North District.
  • Continue to police the Madison way, one call, one investigation, one contact at a time.
  • Work to identify individuals responsible for a disproportionate amount of crime/disorder and plan individual meetings and notifications with them as appropriate.

We are also planning a number of outreach activities, including Guerilla Grillers, Bike Rodeo with the Mallards, Coffee with a Cop (monthly), attending community picnics, kickball camp, etc. We are looking forward to a great summer.

Remember to report all crimes and any suspicious activity. For our neighborhoods to remain safe, we need to all work together.
